Formed in 2018, the Family Trust Life Resource Center (FTLRC), Inc. is a faith-based, 501c(3) not-for-profit agency, created to serve our community worldwide. Our focus is on low-income families with limited resources. We believe the old Chinese proverb: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." In other words, we want to give them a "hand up, not just a handout."
Currently, there are three programs operating under the auspices of the Family Trust Life Resource Center (FTLRC), Incorporated:
It is our desire to expose children and their families to the possibilities for their life. Through the arts and education, we help fine-tune their skills and assist them in discovering their gifts and talents. It is our hope that we can help them change their lot in life!
This community outreach is named in honor of Mother Dalila Perez, a native of Puerto Rico, who moved to the mainland to live with her brother when she was just 14 years old. Through the ups and downs, Dalila maintained a giving heart. For years, she selflessly purchased canned goods to feed the hungry. In her honor, we continue her work.
Throughout the year, we collect money to feed families in need at Thanksgiving. For only $49, we can feed a family of 10, a precooked meal, with turkey and all the trimmings.
Currently we are collecting in the Hudson Valley for the relief effort in Puerto Rico, Dalila's homeland. Ponce and the surrounding areas are devastated from the recent earthquakes. Others on the Island are still trying to recover from the Hurricanes. They need our help!
Please consider making a cash donation or purchase travel or trial-size personal hygiene products such as shampoo, deodorant, wipes, tissues, toothpaste, and soap. Every little bit helps. Thank you in advance for your generosity! For more information, please call (845) 831-8257 and ask about Dalila's Donations for Puerto Rico Relief.

To that end, we provide educational scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Each student receives $500 to help with expenses. In 2018, the scholarship was renamed the Bettie Brown Scholarship to honor a woman that overcame several odds to be the person she is today. She is a senior citizens and one of our trustees that recognizes the importance of investing in our young people. Although she was not afforded the opportunity to go to college, she values education and is an example of a life-long learner.

The King's Kids is the overarching name of the youth programming. The Roman numerals are affixed to document the history of the King's Kids. The program, originally initiated in the nineties under the Ulster County Multi-Service Center, Inc., was started by Paula C. Childs. At the time, she was a teacher in the Kingston City School District. That program successfully ran for over two decades.
However, after marrying and moving out of the area, Paula resigned from the program and turned it over to the remaining staff. Now a retired Elementary School Principal, Dr. Paula Childs Perez is replicating the program in her new region, under the auspices of the Family Trust Life Resource Center, Inc.; thus, the "King's Kids II" name.
